HEALTH GUARANTEE
Mini Highland Health Guarantee
At Willow Creek Mini Highlands, we care about the health and well-being of every Mini Highland in our care. We provide appropriate daily care, monitor our animals, and share available health information with buyers before purchase.
Our Health Guarantee explains the applicable health terms and helps buyers understand their responsibilities when bringing a Highland to a new home.
Health Care Before Purchase
Before a Highland leaves our farm, we provide appropriate care based on the animal’s age, condition, and individual needs.
This care may include:
• Routine health monitoring
• Proper nutrition
• Fresh, clean water
• Suitable shelter
• Preventive care when appropriate
• Veterinary attention when needed
• Applicable health documentation
We encourage buyers to ask questions about the Highland’s health history, care routine, and individual needs before completing a purchase.
Veterinary Examination
We recommend that buyers arrange a veterinary examination after receiving their Highland. A qualified veterinarian can assess the animal’s condition and provide guidance for its ongoing care.
If your veterinarian identifies a health concern that may fall under the Health Guarantee, please contact us as soon as possible. Prompt communication allows us to review the concern and explain the next steps.
Health Guarantee Terms
Our Health Guarantee applies according to the specific terms stated in the applicable purchase agreement.
The agreement will identify the guarantee period, covered conditions, exclusions, and any available remedies. The guarantee does not promise that an animal will never develop an illness, injury, or other health condition.
Transportation, environmental changes, nutrition, housing, management, and other factors may affect an animal’s health after it leaves our care.
Buyer Responsibilities
Buyers must provide proper care and a safe environment after receiving their Highland.
Please provide:
• Suitable property or land
• Safe and secure fencing
• Appropriate shelter
• Fresh, clean water
• Suitable feed and pasture
• Proper daily care
• Access to qualified veterinary care
• Safe transportation and handling
Following veterinary advice and providing consistent care can help your Highland adjust to its new home.
Reporting a Health Concern
If you believe your Highland has a health condition covered by the applicable guarantee, contact us promptly.
Please provide relevant information from your veterinarian, including:
• The animal’s identification
• The date you noticed the concern
• A description of the symptoms
• The veterinarian’s findings
• Any recommended treatment
• Supporting veterinary documentation
We will review the information and determine whether the concern falls within the terms of the Health Guarantee.
Conditions Not Covered
The Health Guarantee does not cover every illness, injury, or condition that may occur after purchase.
The agreement may exclude concerns caused by:
• Accidents or injuries
• Improper care
• Inadequate nutrition
• Unsafe housing or fencing
• Neglect
• Poor transportation conditions
• Failure to obtain veterinary care
• Changes in environment or management
The specific exclusions and limitations will follow the applicable purchase agreement.
Transportation and Health
Transportation can create stress for livestock. Buyers should arrange suitable transportation and prepare a safe environment before the Highland arrives.
When we help arrange transportation, we will discuss the available options, estimated costs, and applicable requirements before finalizing delivery.
Animal movement may require health documents, veterinary inspections, or other requirements depending on the destination. Buyers should confirm the rules that apply to their location. For general information, visit the official USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) website. (APHIS)
